Twitter contributes to the conversation?
Who could of guessed that when I made a LanPartyTwitter account it would ever be of any benefit to anyone, but today is that day. Today two of the people we follow posted things that are of great value and interest to me and to anyone else that is a fan of awesome, and of course if you listen to our show then you are no doubt a connoisseur of awesome. So without further jibb-jabber here is the shit to make your face explode...
First by way of MCLars who is a staple of The LANParty playlist, comes this gem. The Wesley Willis CD Repository I nor I suspect anyone else knew just how prolific Mr. Willis was in his lifetime. This is the end all archive of Wesley Willis work, including studio, and live albums, even some interview clips. We can all thank Jello Biafra for bringing Wesley to our attention, and now we can all enjoy him to an extent that only the magick of the internets can provide.
Second by way of our good friends at Applied Intellect and The Geek Group our local computer whizzes, comes this link to a great deal from Direct2Drive.com to celebrate their 5 year anniversary, you can now purchase over 50 games for 5 bucks each. It's important now to mention that we're not talking about like tetris or mahjong or something of the like, we're talking Assassins Creed: Directors Cut, Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, Bioshock, Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena, etc...
Also we haven't talked about it in depth but I don't see any reason to wait, this coming tuesday The LAN Party presents GAPES (great acting person entertaining sonically) a whole show dedicated to bile and sometimes triumph and memes that come from people stepping out of their comfort zone and putting themselves out there for rabid mockery.

Black Internet
I have no desire to spend lots of time advocating for the awesome that is the internet, I mean lots of us disagree on how the internet should be, many of us for example want the government to read our emails, to screen what we download or upload, monitor the sites we visit and prohibit us from visiting sites that the MPAA or RIAA feel are inappropriate. I know when I get on the internet my number one concern is which of the sites I visit on a daily basis will be blocked by the ISP today, due to lawsuits pending, and I know like all of us I am looking forward to the day when our cable providers put an extra fee on the bill that is listed as the Download Tax. I mean I think that's great, I personally can't think of anything more wise than to have extra fees, illegal taxes and most importantly censorship. I mean that's what the internet was built upon, monitoring, everyone needs to be watched controlled, all of our keystrokes logged, it's unpatriotic to think otherwise.
So with that in mind I suggest you visit http://openinternet.se/ and if you so choose to support these horrible people, well I won't be held responsible for the horror that is unleashed upon the world.
I know we live in a world where the Happy Birthday song is owned by somebody and so singing it in a public place is illegal unless you pay, and I personally think that's great, I also think it's great that any open source non profit freeware that is able to read MP3 files (which if you didn't know is also under a patent), should pay large amounts of money to IBM.
However if you are a Satan worshiping communist pirate from one of those Blue States of Liberal Libertarian ANARCHY then you no doubt support The Electronic Frontier Foundation.
Shame on you if you do! Shame!

What a tanned hand you have there Mr.Kowalski
Not really a full on post, but just thought I'd pass along a blog to distract you with.
http://photoshopdisasters.blogspot.com/
It is exactly what it sounds like, I'm a big fan of bad photoshop so for me the blog is very enjoyable. My current favorite is the polish racialism series.
How unfair for the English speaking racists!

Great Acting Persons Entertaining Sonically (GAPES)
As you may be aware we have been throwing around the idea of doing a whole show dedicated to GAPES. There are of course classic GAPES like
Shatner and Nimoy, Macho Man, Hulk Hogan, Mr.T, Bruce Willis, Steven Seagal, etc...
However we don't want to just rely on classic GAPES, and so if you have a good lead on GAPES let us know will ya! You don't have to find it your self, if you do that's great, but if you just have a feeling that maybe Corey Feldman at some point picked up a microphone in a sacrilegious way, well...
We will track it down, none are safe, none can hide!

Creative Commons tastes better.
Creative Commons is awesome, if you are interested in it, you can read about it here http://creativecommons.org/about/ I highly encourage it.
We at the LAN Party enjoy Creative Commons very much and if you listen to the show, then you know that we try to feature as many artists as possible who give away their music for free. Creative Commons let's you do that, but it also gives you control over specific rights like weather or not you want your music which you give away taken and then used in a Flo Rida song and then watching as they make tons of money off it and don't in anyway have to pass on the same generosity.
So with that in mind we share another website that shares Free Creative Commons music. http://sutros.com/ If you are an artist throw your stuff up there, embed the crap out of it, and get some free exposure. If you're a fan, go explore, we will no doubt find something fitting for the show, in fact we already have, listen for it next week.
