Less horror, more horrible.

Right off the heels of last weeks horror-themed show, here is this weeks horrible show! Errr, horribly great, that is! In honor of House reaching a conclusion, Hugh Laurie was our G.A.P.E.S. selection of the night. Stream the shiz: Download the shiz: HERE Browse the shiz: HERE Who knows what will happen next week. Spring Breakcore.

Hows spring break going? Having a good time in Cozumel? Must be hard to make request calls when you're in half-delirious state from sunstroke and Corona. Our G.A.P.E.S. selection for the evening were Mos Def and Chevy Chase in case you were too intoxicated to discern that fact.

So after the show ended the WIDR Overnighter played a sone from Esoteric called "Lamented Despondency" that I thought was swell so I included it in the podcast. Enjoy.

Motion from the lotion

This was another one of those weeks where I stumbled into a good setlist by accident. Musta been the fact that it fell on the Leap Year, which is the most exalted day of all time. Or something. What the hell is leap year anyway (besides a reminder to vote)? Heres one answer.

Anyhoo, I got a call from a listener telling me to keep up the good work. I will take that as encouragement to keep on keepin' on. I acknowledge that the show has definitely changed over the years. Any fans of the predominantly videogame/soundtrack format have probably noticed a severe deficiency since I took over the board. No one has called to complain though. I'll take that as acceptance.
Since I'm the primary knob twiddler I will keep on doin' what I do.

OH GAWD, THE HOMEWORK!!!!

I'm a week into classes and I've already turned in three writing assignments. Kill me now. Please. Please? I'm predicting lots of sleep deprivation occurring as the semester trundles on.

In other news, Wikipedia has shut down in protest over SOPA/PIPA. Thats a laudable move in the face of other sites backing out on their promise to do the same. LEARN MORE HERE.

Well the show was great this week. I had a good time dickin' around in the studio and diggin' through old CDs in the collection. Mos Def was our G.A.P.E.S. selection of the night.

Winter Blunderland

The snow season is upon us. Ice flakes rain down from the sky to wreak havoc with commuters and vertigo-stricken citizens. The only way to stay safe is to carry your portable hair dryer and blast the ice out of the sky! (this will probably end up being a fruitless battle).

This was a good show. I apologize to those of you who listen frequently. Several of the opening songs were...good. I was exacting some revenge for a terrible request last week. Lots of G.A.P.E.S. and some technical/prog metal thrown in for good measure.

Avoid them pesky ice lakes and keep your feet on the ground this week. Stay warm and cozy when you can. The LAN Party folks will be donning our gay apparel in recognition of the holiday season. Oh Joy!

Back to school to prove to Vlad you're not a fool.

A whole bunch of people started occupying a popular area of Kalamazoo this week. They have to pay for parking and may get first-hand experience with alcohol abuse in the very near future. If you guessed the WMU campus, you're right. Pat yourself on the back with the hand not holding your backpack full of overpriced textbooks.

This is your humble DJ's senior year. Hard to believe it only took me 10 years to get a 4 year degree (...and they say miracles don't happen!) Since this could potentially be my last fall semester EVER, I'm pledging to bring you some top quality LAN Party this year.

This particular show was pretty strong if I do say so myself. The seminal Roommate From Hell track by the two MC's, Lars & Chris, started us off, Hugh Laurie was our GAPES for the evening, and Mr. Rogers finished it up from the rear. Ahem. Enjoy the back-to-school episode!

Post-rapture podcast

We're still here. We weren't raptured, ruptured, or raptor'd. Macho Man Randy Savage is dead. With that knowledge, we are faced with having to ask if this is a world that we still want to live in.

Anyhoo, this podcast marks the 14th week of our continuing Hitchhiker's Guide radio drama installments.

Stay tuned next week for some more crazy shit since we're not dead.

Computers are slowing us down.

The studio computers are terrible. Sooooo terrible. I haven't seen keyboards this sticky since 10th grade.

This podcast marks the 4th episode of the Hitchhiker's Guide series.

Thanks to Jon in Ann Arbor for the excellent requests; the Eddie Murphy request satisfied our G.A.P.E.S. requirement for the night. And our creepy requirement.

Harvey has midterms, so this will be the end of the typing.

Slay bells ring. Are you fidgeting?

A mythical, jolly fat man drives our economy for half the year. This is cause for much celebration and caroling. Or maybe just an indication that our economy is weak. Either way, enjoy our podcast filled with xmas cheer. Don't drink the eggnog at the company party this year. We spiked it with rophenol. Well, maybe DO drink it. Whatever. You've been warned.

The show went a wee bit longer than anticipated, but the extra few minutes are packed with logical atheistic propaganda for your ears to savor. Enjoy.

Stock up on your Haterade.

Welp,
What a show!

We noticed that the volume on the call-line phone was turned down about halfway through the show. If you called for a request and we didn't answer, don't take it personal. We also may have gotten that Protomen request incorrect. The lesson your DJs took away from this is to WRITE THINGS DOWN.

We kept the talking to a minimum and the rawking to the MAX! Lots of new music, and we attempted to throw in a few spooky sounding songs in anticipation of the 2010 Halloween show. Crispin Hellion Glover was our G.A.P.E.S. artist of the week. That was spooky.

A sad bit of news; The Truth with Don Cheadle will be ending next week. I'm sure Don has an especially good show for us all. You can listen to us if for no other reason than to warm up for The Truth.

To help dry those tears and replace the sad emotions with confusion and revulsion, let us present this week's LAN Party2.0!

Where Da Students Be At?

No one called us, and we can only assume that is because we played exactly what everyone wanted to hear, and or everyone changed stations like the moment we hit the air, one of the two.

Here is the show in case you tuned out uh on accident.

We shall blazon the city!

After much wringing of hands and time spent by the mailbox, the GAPES stickers have finally arrived. We literally have stacks and stacks of these things so if you're interested in getting some of this goodness just let us know.

GAPES, an acronym for Great Acting Persons Entertaining Sonically, was coined by MC Hut during his reign over the show. The GAPES segment of the show is when we play music from public figures not immediately known for their musical contributions. We have continued the tradition by bringing you all of these tunes for your consideration weekly. Last night's GAPES segment featured none other than Klaus Kinski, the heralded actor. His German spoken-word-over-music was, to our ears, brilliant. Listen to the show to hear that song, if for no other reason.

The stickers appear to be very durable and of high quality, suggesting that sticking them on an automobile or similar environmental circumstance is feasible without the sticker degrading quickly. The arrival of these stickers is going to force your humble DJ to wash his vehicle a little sooner than it's annual spraydown schedule calls for. Oh well. These will hold the rusty pieces together nicely.

A caller today threw vinegar at us, unfortunately this solidified our resolve that the update we recently installed was the right move. The show was getting slow, our cache was filling up with vats of dirty sponges. We decided to take the plunge, we inserted the dick sorry I mean disc into the slot and away we went. We are now faster and less Derivative and if you can't handle it then perhaps you should just throw out those Roger Waters Pink Floyd albums, or Perhaps Division Bell should be thrown out, because you're a purist and only Syd Barret will do. Well we enjoy all three periods of Pink Floyd so I feel like if you accept that this is Radio Evolution, not Radio Status Quo, then perhaps the current phase isn't for you, but it's better than staying the same for us.

Sincerelly,
